Here's is a very cool plant that is botanically a Costus that looks like a ginger that's called bamboo

You can grow Bamboo ginger potted anywhere

Bamboo ginger likes bright indirect lighting and so is just fine in many places where you have your houseplants now

Foliage is thick, looks very tropical and is abundant
