Platycerium coronarium is a gigantic and majestic staghorn variety native to the Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia. A maturing plant will be 3-5 feet wide or more ...and extremely long, cascading down perhaps 6 or 7 feet

Platycerium coronarium produces 3 kinds of fronds:

the large, upright fronds that do photosynthesis
as the plant matures, you see long staghorn-shaped fronds which hang down and produce spores. Three-frond "forks" are produced which are not the same length
brown, broad fronds which curl inward and capture debris from which the plant extracts nourishment & takes in water

If you want a primo staghorn, this Platycerium coronarium is an excellent choice. Platycerium coronarium is the species that is considered rare, but not difficult for folks who love plants

Best conditions year around would be temperatures 60-85 degrees, humidity 60-75% and plenty of indirect bright light hours. Direct morning sun is OK for a few hours
