The species name for this Poinciana means "very pretty" and this small dwarf truly deserves that title.   The flowers certainly compete in complexity, color intensity and beauty with its relatives above, but last far longer ...many months of bloom

Each flower consists of 5 intensely colored pedals.  The long 6-inch stamens are also scarlet-red.   Together, all that color makes Paradise Poinciana one of the most desirable small trees you could own
